WHY HAVE FOOD & BEVERAGE TENANTS BECOME SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART OF TENANT MIX IN SHOPPING MALLS? (Shopping mall @ series 3) – Nov 25

Food and beverage (F&B) tenants now account for nearly a quarter of shopping mall space, whether measured by net lettable area or rental revenue. Shopping malls have evolved into hubs not only for shopping – such as for groceries, fashion, and entertainment – but also for diverse dining experiences. In Malaysia, the growing prominence of F&B outlets in malls can be attributed to the increasing popularity of dining out as a social activity, whether among families, friends, or colleagues. To cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets, malls typically offer a variety of dining options, from affordable food courts to high-end international brand outlets. F&B establishments serve as key traffic drivers, attracting visitors alongside traditional crowd-pullers like supermarkets, department stores, cinemas, and anchor tenants.
